We know that vacations are meant for taking a break from normal life. And for some of us that means an excuse to eat an entire pizza without feeling guilty or having to work out.

For those of us who want to skip the “cheating” you can totally make your vacation awesome and active. Now even though it would be easy to just make time to exercise during your trip, why not just go somewhere that mashes it into your itinerary? (Queue brain explosion of amazement)

Best to visit in the summer, people come from all over to canoe, hike, bike, swim, and anything else you can think of. Set up camp at the Blackwoods Campground and choose from the numerous trails intertwined within this park. With miles of trail and huge mountains say hello to extremely toned calves. Plus, getting out into nature is a great way to de-stress and recharge.

This is the ultimate wilderness lover’s vacation spot. Not only can you do the usual hiking, swimming, camping type stuff but you can also bike down the byway on Highway 112 that follows the shoreline. Then after that you can ease yourself into the hot springs. Active and relaxing, all with stunning views.

Boulder, Colorado

Home of the Flatirons, Boulder is great for hiking enthusiasts (we recommend trying out the 3.3 mile Vista Trail) and if you feel like sticking around town, biking is the main transportation choice. Not to mention the beautiful views and wonderful people of Boulder.

Hurricane Hole, U.S. Virgin Islands

Water lovers: pack your snorkels. With tons of water activities, you’ll never stay dry. Hurricane Hole is jam-packed with all kinds of coral so you might want to schedule a sight-seeing tour. Spend time in and out of the water doing fun and challenging activities in some of the most beautifully clear water. Pack lots of towels and maybe skip watching shark documentaries before you go.

Besides your usual surfing opportunities in Hawaii, which are totally rad dude, you can mix things up and visit this park. Hike and walk around volcanoes including one of the most active volcanoes, Kilauea.

Yosemite

Horseback ride, bike, or hike up the mountains in one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. You may want to start your day a little earlier than usual or find the best times to go in order to avoid too many other travelers though. Especially at the Half Dome and El Capitan landmarks. It helps really appreciate mother nature and what she has to offer.

See? You can just sneak your exercise into your trip and you won’t even know it’s there. Not to mention eating a whole pizza is probably a lot less stressful if you’re hiking. Unless you have to share it. Silly animals.
